Aw yes, Discernment. Given to us by God, to see the traps set by the evil one.

To not take the bait, as it were, is the key given that evil requires one’s consent, to do the errant thing, thereby laying claim to one’s very soul. Conversely, Discernment allows us to see the trap, for what it truly is…

Glory Be to God…!

I’d love to read more thiughts about the second paragraph… this phrase, “such souls are granted the authority, as well as handed the responsibility, of carving out earthly lives that support the extension of life on this planet” is the most intriguing. What does that look like? To me you almost hint at being in a different relation with all of creation. But perhaps that’s my own biases at play, reflecting your words back in a way you meant entirely differently?

Yes, because we know that creation belongs to Christ and our honour of creation extends from that. As the earliest fathers and mothers of the desert show us, as well as the precious saints that have followed in their fragrant footsteps, prayer supports the extension of spiritual life and with it all life (if not immediately, then, eventually). "For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together." ---Colossians 1.16--17

Funny, my mind didn’t go towards that path. I’m thinking on that now as well as my original line of questioning which was more pastoral…. Gardens, pastures, wildspaces, and the hands on creative ventures that support these places and have conversations with them. Thank you for causing me to think deeper and differently

Feel free to DM, I, apparently earned the Lord's favor, and now I get to come back against my will. So I got all days, I guess.
